December 4th: What fears do you want to leave behind as you enter the new year?
Turning 40. I know it's silly. It's just a number, right? But I'm keenly feeling it - that my days in my 30s are numbered now. Any advice for how to usher in this milestone in positive ways is more than welcome.
No advice, but I want some from you :) Not this year but the next will be my 40th. I am starting to notice signs of aging on my face. Yikes. Are we here already? I want to embrace, but how...
ReplyDeleteI know! And these white hairs just aren't going away!
DeleteIt has been said, "When words fail, music speaks." This is what I might offer to your milestone request:
ReplyDeleteLoreena McKennett singing "Come By The Hills"

James Taylor singing "The Secret Of Life"

Looks like we both have milestones ahead of us, albeit mine has 10 years on yours!!! Let's find a time together to raise a glass to a life of purpose and contentment.
~Guess who?! :-)
Yes - we'll need to toast to these milestone years! I love these songs - thanks for sharing them. :)
DeleteRebecca, I personally know you have an entire month of your 30s to kick up your heels. Then, when January comes, I want to go to Entally Market in Calcutta to get a bouquet of flowers, greet your happy face at the door.
ReplyDeleteLinda
How I'd love to be in Calcutta for my birthday this year! That was definitely a birthday to remember, Linda. :)
DeleteRebecca, I hold these forty years as a gift and anticipate the next forty as you unwrap further adventures of your life. And don't be afraid - I will still hold your hand when you need it :-) Mom
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mom. Now you've made me all teary-eyed.
DeleteThere is someone that is always older than you. Well, almost always. I had my 60 milestone this summer so 40 seems so young. :-) My mother-in-law just celebrated her 94th so now I feel so young. :-)
ReplyDeleteLife is about change and transition so look back with gratitude for what life has gifted you and look forward to what lies ahead, with the knowledge that God has gifted you with what you need for
whatever may come. Sue
You're right, Sue. yes - I want to look back in gratitude and anticipate what lies ahead.
DeleteGosh, Rebecca, your mom got me all teary-eyed too!
ReplyDeletei know, eh? :)
